          DescriptionEquinoctial dial with a continuous circular chapter ring marked 1-12, 1-12 with a toothed outer rim that engages a second dial with pointer bearing the markings I-XII and 60 subdivisions. The vertical angle of the chapter ring is set to a fixed latitude of 51° North by means of a hinged bar that engages a small hole in the frame. The compass rose is divided into 32 points with the four major points marked "SE", "OR", "ME" and "OC". There is an additional scale spanning 360° with 2° subdivisions.
