DescriptionA long rod, meant to be fixed on an optical bench, for instance, supports a circular casing on which could be attached polarizing lenses. The latter, on both sides, are held in place by a pair of spring clamps. The front lens could be rotated whereas the back one was fixed. Over the latter one, moreover, a small metallic support or square grid was added at some point in time. It does not appear to be original to the instrument. In front, there is also a small graduated circle, on which could have been fixed a prism or other kind of optical accessory.
