Material
DescriptionA cube with a metal lid on top and a rectangular console attached to one side. All of the cube's sides bear stains of different colors and types, presumably from long-term use. The side edges are rounded. Along the top of the sides of the cube is a rim, presumably to prevent spilling. Carved out of the top of the cube is a cast-aluminum bowl.
The lid is made of a silvery metal but it also bears rust and stains from use. The lid is fairly thick, approximately a quarter of the thickness of the cube. There is a small hole on one side, however, it is unclear whether this hole was designed or has been eaten away by rust. Along the top of the sides are several small slotted screws. From the top of the lid, in parallel with the console, are two identical, clean, metal, U-shaped handles.
The rectangular console, protruding from one side of the cube, is also stained. On the front of the rectangle, a thin metal plaque is mounted. Below the name of the instrument written in two lines at the top: "FISHER/HI-TEMP BATH," are a dial ranging from 50 to 300 Centigrade (as well as on 'OFF' setting), the company logo, and a red indicator light.
From the bottom of the console emerges a black insulated power cable, also stained.
