          DescriptionEquinoctial dial with an open, partially circular chapter ring marked V-XII, I-VII, subdivided in 1/4 hour increments. The vertical angle of the chapter ring is adjustable for northern latitudes from 0° to 70°, calibrated in 1° increments. A peep hole for a light spot is attached to a square plate which slides in a rectangular frame with rullings on both,Annalematic scale on plate holding peep hole is calibrated to allow adjustment for the sun's declination.,rectangular with a semicircular side

          Curatorial RemarksAppraisal by Brieux, 9/24/84: $1000. Maker not listed in Augarde or Daumas
          FunctionTime-finding by orienting the peep hole so as to cause a spot of light to fall on the line in the center of the chapter ring. The peep hole must first be adjusted for the sun's declination but no compass is required for orientation. The function of this dial is identical to that of a universal equinoctial ring dial.
