DescriptionThis is a Baker monocular compound microscope. The instrument is constructed of brass. The vertical monocular body is mounted to a triangular post by a horizontal bracket. The post slides into a rectangular mount hinged between two supports on a flat tripod base. The coarse adjustment is by rack and pinion, with the knobs located on the horizontal bracket and on both sides of the square mount. The fine focus is operated by a wheel on the body tube.

The microscope is equipped with a square mechanical stage and substage mirror.

The instrument and accessories are stored in a standing mahogany case.
