DescriptionThis is a Davis student monocular compound microscope. The instrument is constructed of brass and has an inclining stand. It is mounted on a Y-shaped base with double pillars attached to the slightly curved arm and monocular body. The fine focus is operated by a wheel on the nosepiece. For the coarse adjustment, there is rack and pinion.

The microscope is also equipped with a square stage with a sliding shelf for the slide and a substage mirror on a cylindrical tailpiece.

The instrument is stored in a standing mahogany case. The maker's trade card is located on the inside of the case door.
